MGF SAND CASTLE
DOB 6/26/2004 / ILR 260529
( Argentine Merlin  X  MGF Drifting Sand)

There is a great story behind how we acquired this awesome female.  On the way to the ALSA Nationals in Lincoln Neb back in 2007, we stopped as usual to visit with Jerry and Barb McRoberts.  They took us out in one of their 600 acres pastures to check out some llamas.  Mary fell in love with a 2 month old female and just has to have her...NOW!!  Well, to do that, we had to take her mom along with us until the cria was old enough to be weined.  We named the cria MGF Sand Starr. Just a few weeks later, a horrible blizzard hit Sidney Neb and the Mc Roberts lost a large number of their livestock.

We ended up falling in love with "Sandy" and had to purchase her also.  Since then we have sold Sand Starr and "Sandy" has continued to produce outstanding cria.  Her latest is WOL Avatar from a breeding with Hidalgo!  Sandy is a terrific mom with lots of milk and really protects her cria. She was use to running on large acreage and needing to be over protective just to survive the elements.  She has become a real asset to our herd.
